Questions and answers (FAQ)

Here we collect the questions drivers ask us most – answered briefly, with links to the detailed pages. Every answer has its own link: use “Copy link” next to a question to pass on exactly that answer. The list keeps growing. Questions about installing and the beta are also answered in Beta FAQ.

Money and jobs#

How is a job's pay worked out – a percentage of the game's pay or fixed rates per kilometre?#

Neither: there is no fixed percentage and there are no fixed rates per kilometre. What a job pays depends on the job itself – cargo, distance and deadline – and on how you drive it. The amount is converted into the Dispolotse economy so that wages, costs, rents and prices fit together.

We do not publish the exact formula – that keeps the economy fair for everyone. You still always see what you get:

• Before: for jobs from the freight market the revenue is already on the job card.
• After: every job is in the tachograph with its statement – base freight, surcharges and deductions listed separately.

Do jobs I take directly in the game count too?#

Yes. If you drive a job from the game's own freight jobs or freight market, the job is still reported and paid – just without the freight market's surcharge. All that matters is that the app is running and you are signed in.

When do I get the money for a job?#

Not every job pays at once – the client company pays for the freight only after delivery. In the tachograph you see under “Instructed” what is still to come, what it is waiting for and on which day it is expected. If you drive for a company, it also depends on how you are employed: When does my money arrive?

I use a mod that changes the money in the game – what happens?#

Mods that change money or the economy are not allowed with Dispolotse. If the app detects such a mod, your job is not refused, but it is settled differently from usual – and the app tells you so. Weather, graphics, sound, traffic and paint mods are fine. More: First start and first job.

App and loading jobs into the game#

My job does not appear in the game – what can I do?#

Go through these points in order:

1. Job length on maximum: in the game options (Gameplay), set the preferred job length to maximum – otherwise the game hides long jobs.
2. Stop and engine off – in single player just as in TruckersMP. Unhitch your own trailer first.
3. Save prepared? Steam Cloud off for the profile and save format 2 – both under “Settings” › “Save game” › “Preparing your save”.
4. The order: first “Put jobs into the game” in the app, then quicksave in the game, wait a moment, quickload. An autosave does not count.
5. Look in the game: open the freight jobs – your job is usually at the end of the list. Accept it before you save again.
6. New game profile? Then you first need your own truck in the game; before that the game shows no freight jobs.
7. Still nothing? Close the app completely once (icon at the bottom right in the notification area › “Quit”), start it again and try once more. If that does not help, open a ticket – with a screenshot of the message.

The app is waiting for my quicksave, but nothing happens.#

The app waits up to 5 minutes for a new quicksave – save in the game with your quicksave key. If you have already put a job into the game in the same app session and the card now hangs while waiting, close the app completely once (icon at the bottom right in the notification area › “Quit”) and start it again – then it works again. We are working on making this restart unnecessary.

I picked my game folder by hand – since then nothing loads.#

Restart the app once after picking the folder (close it completely via the icon at the bottom right in the notification area, then open it again). After that the app reads everything from the newly picked folder, and loading into the game works again.

The app cannot switch the save format.#

“Change it now” only works while the game is closed. If it still fails, the game's settings file is often read-only: the file config.cfg is in your Documents in the folder “Euro Truck Simulator 2” or “American Truck Simulator” – untick “Read-only” in its properties. Or take the “I'll do it myself” way under “Settings” › “Save game” › “Preparing your save” – the app shows you the steps.

How do I get the newest app version?#

Automatically: the app checks for a new version every time it starts – but never during a running job. To check by hand, use “Settings” › “Program” › “Check for updates”. You can reinstall at any time via “Download app” on dispolotse.de – your account, your company and your jobs are kept.

How do I switch between ETS2 and ATS?#

Usually not by hand at all: just start the other game – after a few seconds the app recognises which one is running and switches the freight market, map, units and money display. Once you have driven both games, the world switch “World” with ETS2 / ATS sits at the top of the sidebar. Everything about it: ETS2 and ATS.

Companies (VTC)#

How do I join a company?#

Open “Companies”, pick a company – the filter “Takes applications” shows who is looking for drivers right now – and click “Apply”. Or let them find you: put yourself in the driver exchange, then companies can invite you. Step by step: Apply to a company and Driver exchange.

How do I found my own company?#

Under “Companies” › “Found a company”. You need enough experience, the passed driving test in the world you found it in, the founding fee and enough equity – the app shows you exactly what is still missing. Everything about it: Found a company.
