Removing the app cleanly
ETS2 + ATS
What is deleted when you uninstall, what is left in place on purpose – and why jobs not yet transmitted are never lost.
On this page5
Want to take Dispolotse off your PC – or start completely fresh? When removed, the app cleans up thoroughly, but it never touches anything that is not its own and never throws away anything that has not been transmitted yet.
Your account stays. Removing only deletes what is on this PC. Your account, your company, your bank account and all jobs already transmitted stay online. Reinstall the app and sign in, and everything is back.
How to remove the app#
Windows Settings › Apps › Installed apps › "Dispolotse — Fahrer-App" › "Uninstall".
"Remove Dispolotse" appears and asks whether the app should be removed – and explains what happens. "Yes, remove it" starts it, "No, keep it" leaves everything as it is.
What is deleted#
- the running app is closed
- the autostart entry ("Start with Windows") – including the entry in Task Manager
- the entry in the Windows settings and in the Start menu (including a shortcut from older versions)
- the program folder
- the update folder where new versions were downloaded
- an old, empty program folder from earlier versions
- your data folder – with your settings and your login on this PC
At the end the app tells you what it has cleared. Only the small cleanup copy in the Temp folder disappears at your next Windows sign-in.
What is left in place on purpose – and why#
If anything stays, the app names the place and the reason:
- Jobs, refuelling or costs not transmitted yet. These are never thrown away – it is your money. The data folder then stays, and the app says: "There are still jobs, refuelling or costs here that have not been transmitted yet. Start the app once with internet so they are transmitted, then remove it again."
- A folder that points to another place is not touched for safety reasons.
The telemetry file in the game folder#
For the app to read along, the game needs a telemetry file in its game folder. Other telemetry programs use the same file. That is why:
- If Dispolotse installed the file itself and it is still exactly the same, the app asks separately: "Dispolotse installed the telemetry file itself: … Should it be removed as well?" If you still use another telemetry program, choose "No, keep it". With "Yes, remove it" exactly this one file is deleted – never the folder, never another file.
- If Dispolotse did not install the file itself, the app does not ask at all and leaves it in place.
- If another program has replaced the file in the meantime, it is left untouched – the app names this at the end, with the reason.
- If the game is running, the file is locked and stays – close the game and delete it yourself if you want to.
- Foreign files – such as other programs' plugins – are never touched by the app, and never the whole plugin folder.
Good to know#
- Your login is deleted on this PC. If you install the app again later, you sign in anew.
- Deleting your account completely is a separate step in the account – uninstalling never deletes an account.
