Beta#

What does "beta" mean for Dispolotse?#

Dispolotse is not finished yet – and we say so openly. You are driving a version that is being worked on every day.

• New things arrive all the time: most of them straight through the login area, without any app update. When a new app version does come, the app fetches it by itself (see below).
• Things may look different from yesterday. Pages, buttons and flows change, and new things are added.
• Save states may be reset – single ones or all of them, if a bug makes it necessary. This is stated in the terms of use (§ 14). Drive during this time because it is fun.
• Your reports count: bug fixes and wishes from you players come first. What is still planned is on the homepage under "What's coming".

Does Dispolotse cost anything?#

No. Dispolotse is a private, free hobby project. All money in the game is made up – no real money is involved, and there is nothing to buy.

Installing#

Where do I get the app?#

On dispolotse.de via "Download the app". You get a single file: "Dispolotse-einrichten-….exe" (the dots are the version number). Double-click it to start. You need Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) and no administrator rights.

Windows shows a blue box "Windows protected your PC". Is that bad?#

No. The program is signed, but the publisher is still new to Windows – that is why this box can appear. Click "More info" and then "Run anyway". If no such box appears, there is nothing to do. You never need to switch off your antivirus for this.

Where is the app installed?#

In your personal user folder – the exact folder is shown in the "Set up Dispolotse" window under "Folder". Nothing in the system itself is changed. You get an entry in the Start menu and one in Windows Settings (for removing it). Every setup step gets a tick; at the end it says "Done. Version … is set up." If something goes wrong, the setup tells you – and leaves nothing half-finished behind.

Does the app start with Windows?#

Only if you want it to. The setup has the tick box "Start together with Windows" – the app then comes up without a window, only as an icon at the bottom right in the notification area. You can change this at any time under "Settings" › "Startup" › "Start with Windows".

I closed the window – is the app still running?#

Yes. When you close the window, the app keeps running in the background and keeps recording your drives. Use the icon at the bottom right in the notification area to "Open" it again or to "Quit" it completely.

How do updates arrive?#

By themselves: the app checks for a new version every time it starts – but never in the middle of a job. To check by hand: "Settings" › "Program" › "Check for updates".

Account and first sign-in#

How do I create an account?#

In the app, click "Create an account": e-mail address, a display name (that is how others see you) and a password. Read the terms of use and the privacy policy and tick the box – you must be at least 16 years old. You then receive an e-mail with a confirmation code; enter it in the app and click "Confirm".

The confirmation mail does not arrive.#

Look in your spam or junk folder. If it is not there, use "Send the confirmation mail again" in the app.

Do my drives count without an account?#

The app already records, but nothing counts until you are signed in. The app tells you: "It is running - but it does not count yet."

Can I use my account on several PCs?#

Yes. Sign in on each PC with the same e-mail address and the same password. Only a session key is stored, never your password.

Is there a driving test?#

Yes – but you do not need it to drive jobs. The card "Your driving test" is under "Account" (bottom left); start it there with "Start the test drive". Only a drive on the standard map counts. During the test drive the app shows you how it is going, and afterwards "Passed." or the reason why it was not enough yet.

• The driving test is per world: ETS2 and ATS each have their own.
• You need it for bigger steps, for example your own yard or founding a company – in the world where you want to do it.
• Some companies start new drivers with a driving test or a trial period.

ETS2 and ATS#

Does Dispolotse work with American Truck Simulator too?#

Yes, with one account for both games. ATS is switched on: you drive Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator with the same app and the same account.

How do I switch between ETS2 and ATS?#

Usually not by hand at all: just start the other game. As soon as you drive, the app recognises within a few seconds which game is running and switches the freight market, map, units and money display. While a game is running, the app follows it: "Your game is running – the app follows it."

Once ATS is unlocked and you have driven both games at least once with Dispolotse, the "World" switch with ETS2 / ATS appears at the top of the sidebar, right under "Mail". With it you can look at the other world even when no game is running. If you have only driven one world so far, it just says "World: ETS2" (or "World: ATS").

What is different in ATS?#

Almost everything works the same, just in America. Distances are shown in miles with kilometres after them, for example "62 mi (100 km)", money in dollars with euros, for example "$ 1,250 (1,096 €)". Your bank account is the same for both games and books in euros; jobs, vehicles, yard and statistics are kept separately per world. You still set ATS up once (telemetry, save game). Reporting bugs and wishes#

I found a bug. Where do I report it?#

The fastest way is right in the app: in the sidebar, directly under "Overview", there is "Report a problem" – always visible once you are signed in.

1. Under "What is it about?" choose whether it is a bug, a wish or a question.
2. Under "Your text" describe what happened – and what you expected instead.
3. For a bug, add a picture under "Attach a screenshot": choose a file or capture a window of the app – always only on your click. Make sure the picture shows no password and no other people.
4. "Send message". The app confirms: "Your message has arrived."

Under "Your messages" you see everything you have sent, marked "open" or "done"; you can also withdraw a message there. You get the reply over the app's Radio. The same works in the driver area in the browser, also under "Report a problem".

And via Discord?#

On our Discord "dispolotse.de" (dispolotse.de/discord) – the link is also at the bottom of the app under "Discord community":

• Bugs: in the "fehlermeldungen" (bug reports) channel. Search briefly first whether there is already a post – then a 👍 is enough.
• Questions: in the help forum.
• Account, money or anything personal: do not post it publicly – open a ticket in "ticket-öffnen" instead.
• News and new versions: in "ankündigungen" (announcements) and "changelog".

Discord#

Can my company post its jobs to our Discord?#

Yes, via Discord webhooks: delivered jobs, new members, finished repairs, balances and more – separately per world, into one channel or several. The owner and anyone in the company with the matching right can set it up. The full step-by-step guide: Setting up Discord webhooks.

If you do not want to appear there by name, turn on "Don't name me on Discord" – in the app under "Settings" › tab "Who sees what" › card "Your company's Discord", in the browser under "Settings" › card "Your company's Discord" (right under "Who sees what"). You then appear in all messages only as "A driver".

What is the "Discord status"?#

It lets your Discord profile show your friends what you are driving right now: only start and destination city, cargo and weight – never money, number plate or company – plus "dispolotse.de". It runs only on your PC through the Discord app; we receive none of it.

The Discord status is off until you switch it on: in the app "Settings" › tab "Who sees what" › card "Discord status" › "Show what I am driving in my Discord profile". It appears as soon as the Discord app runs on this PC and the game is started. The driver area in the browser has no Discord status. More: Discord status.

Finding your way in the app#

Where do I see my statistics?#

In the sidebar under MONEY › "Statistics" – your dashboard with jobs, kilometres, tonnes, driving time, records and more. The "Me" tab shows your numbers, "My VTC" those of your company. Every single job with its settlement is in the "Tachograph". More: Statistics and fines and Statistics – logbook, favourites and records.

What is the driver exchange?#

This is where drivers and companies find each other. In the app it is under COMPANY › "Companies", card "Driver exchange". Only drivers without a company are listed in the driver exchange.

• Find a company: filter by game, language and driving style – you also see who is taking applications right now.
• Be found: switch on "My entry is visible in the driver exchange", choose your languages, your games and whether you want to drive as an employee, a subcontractor or both, and write a few words about yourself. Companies can then invite you; invitations are listed under "Invitations", and you accept or decline.
• You do not state your driving style – it is counted from your jobs (standard, race or balanced) – the app measures it itself.
• When you join a company your entry disappears. Nobody can poach a driver who is already in a company.

Is there Dispolotse in the browser too?#

Yes, the driver area: on dispolotse.de click "Sign in" at the top, with the same account as in the app – on a PC, a tablet or a phone. There you can do everything you can do in the app; only the driving itself runs through the Windows app in the background while you play.

On top of that, the driver area has the page "Drive" – your second screen while driving: put your phone or tablet next to the keyboard or open it on a second PC, and you see the running job without leaving the game. Signing in, devices and the phone icon: Driver area in the browser.

Removing#

How do I uninstall the app?#

Via Windows Settings › Apps › Installed apps › "Dispolotse — Fahrer-App" › Uninstall.

What is deleted – and what stays?#

• Deleted: the app, its autostart entry and your data on this PC – settings and login.
• Stays online: your account, your company and all jobs already transmitted. If you install the app again, just sign in again.
• Never thrown away: jobs, refuelling or costs that have not been transmitted yet. The data folder then stays – start the app once with internet so everything is transmitted, then remove it again.
• The telemetry file in the game folder: if Dispolotse installed it itself, the app asks whether it should be removed as well. Other telemetry programs use the same file – if you use one of them, choose "No, keep it". A file installed by another program is not touched.
• At the end the app shows you what was left in place on purpose, and why.

And if I want to delete my account completely?#

Uninstalling does not delete your account. For that there is the card "Delete account" under "Account" (in the browser under "Account & devices"). A deleted account cannot be restored.
