Dealer workshop and loan vehicle
ETS2 + ATS
Repairs at the dealer: where, when, who pays — and the loan truck or loan trailer while your vehicle is off the road.
On this page5
If you have no workshop of your own, the dealer does the repairs. Even with your own workshop you can choose him. You order the work itself on the "Workshop" page — this page is about what happens at the dealer.
Where is it repaired?#
When a repair is due, the app asks "Where is it repaired?" — with "reported …" and "decision by …". The choices are "Own workshop" (with free bays and whether a mechanic is on duty) and "At the dealer".
- Without a workshop of your own it says: "You have no workshop of your own — the dealer does the repair."
- In a company, the fleet management decides where the repair happens.
- "Dealer's workshop · the dealer picks the branch": which of his workshops takes your vehicle is up to the dealer.
- If your vehicle is somewhere else, the dealer's drivers bring it there ("Transfer: the dealer's drivers take the vehicle from … to …" — the holder pays for the run).
Waiting and progress#
A job at the dealer shows its place in line and its state: "in progress", "waiting for a bay", "waiting for a part", together with the expected start and finish.
While your job still waits to be accepted, the app says it is being handled by the workshop manager or the dealer and will be taken on within 24 hours. After that it shows when your truck or trailer will be ready.
The bill is paid by the holder of the vehicle: your current account — or your company's cash if it is a company vehicle.
On the dealer overview, tab "Workshop", you see what the dealer is working on right now and who is on the waiting list.
Which component needs which spare part?#
The dealer repairs with the same spare parts as any other workshop. When a component drops below the repair threshold, he needs these:
| Component | Spare part | Quantity |
|---|---|---|
| Chassis | Air spring bellows | 1 |
| Engine | Radiator and engine parts | 1 |
| Transmission | Clutch kit | 1 |
| Cab | Body and glass | 1 |
| Wheels | Tyre | 6 on a 4x2 · 8 on a 6x2 · 10 on a 6x4 |
| Trailer | Tyre | 6 |
| Trailer | Wheel bearing set | 3 (one per axle) |
| Trailer | Air spring bellows | 1 |
| Trailer | Curtain | 2 (both sides) |
| Trailer | Trailer parts | 1 |
Breakdowns on the road and scheduled services bring their own parts — the complete list is under Workshop › Which component needs which spare part?. If the workshop does not have a part in stock, your job shows "waiting for a part". The spare parts have the same names in ETS2 and ATS.
The loan vehicle#
While your own vehicle is in the workshop you get a loan truck or loan trailer.
| What the app shows | Meaning |
|---|---|
| "… per day" | the day rate |
| "plus … per km" | the price per kilometre driven |
| "… driving days · … km · so far …" | what has been charged so far |
| "paid by: you" / "paid by: your VTC" | who carries the cost |
The day rate is only charged once you drive a load with the loan vehicle. When your vehicle is ready you choose: "Keep loan truck" (or "Keep loan trailer") or "rent for 1 week instead". Loan vehicles wear too — see Return check and wear.
Rented vehicles in the workshop#
The main inspection, safety check and service of a rented vehicle are done by the dealer's workshop at no cost to you. You pay the rent or the loan fee.
