Accidents in the statistics

ETS2 + ATS

How the app detects accidents, what counts as a serious accident, where you see your accidents and who else sees them.

The app counts your accidents – job by job. It is a statistic about how you drive, not a penalty: the accident counter itself charges nothing and gives no points.

How the app detects an accident#

While you drive, the app reads through the telemetry how damaged the truck, the trailer and the cargo are. If the damage suddenly jumps up in an impact, that is an accident. If the jump is large, it counts as a serious accident.

  • Several knocks in quick succession – for example when you slide into the crash barrier after the first impact – count as one accident.
  • Accidents are counted per job. Light and serious accidents are counted separately: a serious accident appears only among the severe accidents, never among the accidents as well.
  • Not counted as an accident: repairs, loading, changing truck or trailer, wear, ferries and trains. Speed alone never makes an accident either.
  • What counts is what the app measures itself – not the game's collision fines. Where they occur, they are shown separately as "collision fines (game)".

Where you see your accidents#

  • In the app: MONEY › "Statistics" › card "Racing and standard statistics" › tab "Accidents"
  • In the driver area in the browser: "Statistics" › card "Accidents" (right below "Standard and race")

It shows:

TileMeaning
Accidentsthe light accidents in the period – serious ones are not included here
severe accidentsthe serious accidents in the period, counted separately
jobs without an accidentjobs on which nothing happened
accident-free jobs in a rowyour current streak
accidents per 100 jobslight and severe together – lets you compare drivers with many and with few jobs
measured jobson how many jobs anything was measured at all

Below that, the weeks: one bar per calendar week with "… accidents · … severe accidents", "accident-free" or "not measured".

Accidents and severe accidents – counted separately – also appear in the "Driving style and accidents" section of the statistics (see Statistics – logbook, favourites and records).

"Not measured" is not zero. Jobs driven with an older app version could not be measured: "… jobs without measurement (older app version) - they are not counted here." A week without a measured job is shown in grey as "not measured", never as "accident-free".

Who else sees your accidents#

  • Your company: in the company overview there are the columns "Accidents" and "Severe accidents" (counted separately) for every driver and every job – for everyone allowed to see the company overview. Your company's average appears in the comparison "Me and my company".
  • Driver exchange: your company's card reads "Driven so far: … accidents · … severe accidents" – added up for the whole company, never for a single driver (see Driver exchange).
  • Discord: your company can have the event "Accident reported" sent to its Discord channel – it is off by default (see Setting up Discord webhooks). With the switch "Don't name me on Discord" you appear there only as "A driver" – you find it in the app and in the browser under "Settings", card "Your company's Discord".
  • Publicly on the homepage accidents appear only added up over all drivers of a world – accidents counted and serious accidents as two separate figures, only from measured jobs, no names, no company, never for a single driver.

Exactly where the limits for "accident" and "serious accident" lie is our secret – just drive carefully.
