ETS2 and ATS
ETS2 + ATS
One app, one account, two worlds: what is the same in ATS and what is different.
On this page9
Dispolotse also runs with American Truck Simulator too. One app, one account, two game worlds: everything works exactly as in ETS2 — just in America. There is nothing to switch: you simply start the other game.
How to change the game world#
- Start the game — Start American Truck Simulator instead of ETS2. You do not need a switch in the app for that.
- Drive off — As soon as you drive, the app recognises within a few seconds which game is running and switches over: freight market, map, units, money display and the vehicle pictures.
- Back to Europe — Start ETS2 again and it switches back the same way. Your jobs, your money and your vehicles stay where they are.
Until you drive, the app shows the world you were last driving in.
One account for both games
You need no second account and no second current account. What you earn in ATS goes into the same money pot as your money from ETS2.
Set it up once#
For ATS you do once what you did the first time with ETS2 (see Set up the game and telemetry):
- Telemetry: Under "Setup" ATS has its own line. The app finds the game folder by itself and puts the plugin in place; the next time you start ATS, the game asks once whether it may read data — please accept.
- Save game: Your ATS profile needs Steam Cloud off and save format 2 as well (see Prepare your save). Before your first job, the app backs up this save too.
- Map: Leave it on "Automatic" — the app reads from your profile which map you drive in ATS, with the states you own.
What stays the same#
Almost everything. Every routine you know from ETS2 works the same way in ATS:
- Freight market and the way into the game: engine off → "Put jobs into the game" → quick save → quick load — in single player and on TruckersMP. Jobs from the in-game job market are reported and paid in ATS too.
- Drive, tachograph and overlay — with real arrival time and deadline.
- Driving and rest times as in Europe, taxes and levies as in Europe.
- Renting, buying, workshop, spare parts, diesel and AdBlue — at the American dealer.
- Your own yard with parking spaces and a fuel station — in America as well.
- Current account and bank — once for both games. Everything else (jobs, vehicles, yard, statistics, personnel file) is kept separate per world: what you drive in ATS counts in ATS, what you drive in ETS2 counts in ETS2.
What is different#
| Topic | In ETS2 | In ATS |
|---|---|---|
| Map | Europe — base game and map DLCs | USA — base game and the state DLCs |
| Distances | kilometres | miles first, kilometres in brackets — e.g. "62 mi (100 km)" |
| Consumption | litres per 100 km | litres per 100 km, followed by mpg in brackets |
| Diesel at the pump | euros per litre | dollars per gallon, plus euros per litre |
| Money in the game | euros | dollars — the app shows amounts as "$ … (… €)"; in your account in euros, converted at the weekly rate |
| Dangerous goods | "ADR" dangerous goods | "Hazmat" |
| Inspection | HU (roadworthiness test) | "DOT inspection" |
| Toll | at the toll stations of the European countries | at the rates of the states where documented rates exist — otherwise the route costs no toll |
| Speed | as described under Speed and sign | the sign on the American map counts — also where you may drive faster than in Europe |
| Fines | as described under Fines | California and Oregon with their documented amounts (California with its own truck rate), all other states at the German rates |
| Trucks and trailers | European brands | American long-hood tractors and US trailers — prices in dollars, paid in euros |
| Dealer | the European dealer | a dealer of its own, starting in Denver (Colorado) — see The dealer in America |
| Rental contract | free kilometres and price per extra kilometre in kilometres | stays in kilometres, with the miles beside them |
The app changes the units by itself. The settings say: "automatic by game — ETS2: kilometres and litres · ATS: miles with kilometres in brackets".
Dollars, euros and your account#
In ATS the game counts in dollars. The app books every amount in euros to your current account — converted at the weekly rate, the reference rate of the European Central Bank, fetched once a week.
- Your statement shows both, for example "$ 1,250.00 = 1,096.25 €".
- For a job you see the dollar amount, the euro amount and the day of the rate, for example "$ 1,250 (= 1,096 €, rate of 25.09.)".
- The rate is fixed at the moment of booking — if it changes later, your old bookings stay as they are.
More under Current account & bank › Dollars and euros.
Diesel in America#
When you fill up you pay, as in ETS2, the price at the pump in the game — the app shows it in dollars per gallon and in euros per litre and books it in euros. Where the app works with real diesel prices, in America it takes the weekly US diesel prices — fetched once a week, converted to euros.
Trucks and trailers#
The American dealer has American brands — Kenworth, Peterbilt, Freightliner, Western Star, International, Volvo and Mack — and US-style trailers. Renting, buying, selling and taking them to the workshop work as in ETS2 (see My vehicles).
Every vehicle belongs to the world where you bought or rented it: an American truck drives in ATS, a European one in ETS2.

Freight market and map#
The freight market only shows you the jobs of the world you are driving in right now — and the number on the button only counts those. On the live map you see the drivers who are out in the same world, and the dealer overview shows the dealer of your world.

Comes with the road network
The line of your route, "next place" and the arrival time along the roads need the road network of ATS. We are building it in right now — until then the American map shows the cities and the drivers, but no route line yet.
Your company in both worlds#
Your company exists only once — with the same members, the same company account and the same roles. Whoever drives, drives in the world of their game. You can build yards, fuel stations and workshops in America too.
Mods
ATS follows the same rules as ETS2: weather, graphics, sound, traffic and paint-job mods are fine. Mods that change money or the economy, or that rename cities, are not allowed.
