Vehicles wear — your own ones just like the dealer's. On your own vehicles you see it in the condition, part by part, and repair them in the workshop. Rented and loan vehicles belong to the dealer; there are two things you should know about them.

The return check#

When you return a rented truck, rented trailer or loan vehicle, the dealer's workshop takes a short look at what is wrong with it. That is the "Return check". It runs in the order the vehicles arrive.

  • Messages about it are in your Mailbox, group "Return check".
  • If something needs doing, the dealer's workshop does it. Service, main inspection and safety check during the rental are done by the dealer too — at no cost to you.

The wear flat rate#

When you drive a rented or loan vehicle, you pay a wear flat rate per 1,000 km for the wear. It is deducted from your trip pay and goes to the dealer who owns the vehicle. With your own truck and trailer there is none.

In the settlement and the receipt of a load it has its own line:

LineMeaning
"Trip pay before wear flat rate: …"your trip pay before the deduction
"Wear flat rate, rented truck" / "…, rented trailer" / "…, loaner truck" / "…, loaner trailer"which vehicle is charged
"… km × … per 1,000 km = …"distance driven times the rate
"— deducted at most the trip pay: …"never more than the trip pay of that load is deducted
"Left after the wear flat rate: …"what is credited to you

In the mailbox the message is called "Wear flat rate deducted" (or "… (at most the trip pay)").

If you drive a rented truck and a rented trailer, you see two lines — one per vehicle.

In the American world (ATS) distances are shown as "mi (km)" and amounts as "$ … (… €)".
